VEGACAL Series 60 - Level measurement in bulk solids and liquids

Sensor and vessel form the two electrodes of a capacitor. A capacitance change caused by a level change is processed by the integrated electronics and converted into an output signal. The level measurement is carried out via the complete sensor length without a dead zone. Due to the availability of robust cable and rod versions, suitable instruments are available for all applications. The shortenable, partly insulated cable and rod versions offer also the advantage of an individual adaptation to all local conditions.

Guided Microwave

VEGAFLEX Series 60 - Universal sensors for bulk solids and liquids

High frequency microwave pulses are coupled on a cable or rod and guided along the probe. The pulse is reflected by the product surface. The time from emission to reception of the signals is proportional to the level in the vessel. In most cases an adjustment on site is not necessary because all instruments are already preset to the ordered probe length, this saves time and expenses. A setup with medium is not nesessary. The shortenable, bare cable and rod versions can be adapted to the individual conditions on site.

Radar Based

VEGAPULS Series 60 - Non-contact measurement under all process conditions

Extremely short microwave impulses are emitted by the antenna system to the measured product, reflected by the product surface and received again by the antenna system. The time from emission to reception of the signals is proportional to the level in the vessel. A special time spreading procedure enables the reliable and precise measurement of the extremely short signal running times. The radar sensors are available in different C and K-band frequency ranges, this ensures the optimum solution for the different applications. The proven ECHOFOX signal processing analysis the reflections in the vessel based on long-standing experience and detects the level signal reliably. The adaptation to the respective application is really simple through the selection of the application parameters.

Radiation-based sensors for level, density and mass flow measurement.

In the radiation-based measurement, a Caesium 137 or Cobalt 60 isotope emits focused gamma rays. A spe- cial sensor located at the opposite side of the vessel receives this radiation. The so called scintillator converts the gamma rays into signals, their number is detected and processed. Because gamma rays are damped when penetrating the substance, the sensor can calculate the level, the limit level, the density or the mass flow out of the received radiation.

VEGASON Series 60 - Non-contact measurement with ultrasonics

Short ultrasonic impulses in the range of 18 to 70 kHz are emitted by the transducer to the measured product, reflected by the product surface and received again by the transducer. The pulses are spread with sound velocity. The time from emission to reception of the signals is proportional to the level in the vessel. The proven ECHOFOX signal processing analysis the reflections in the vessel based on long-standing experience and detects the level signal reliably. The adjustment of the sensors is very simple without changing the level.
